The
Story of Christmas
God
saw mankind fall from grace
And knew the problems they would face.
The Garden of Eden was now devoid
Of the beautiful peace mankind destroyed.
Yet, God is Love and wished to save
The sinners who now faced the grave.
But, justice would demand a price-
Amazing grace, a sacrifice.
From
his holy throne above,
Jesus came to show his love.
He did not live the way of kings,
Surrounded by pretentious things.
He came and in a manger laid-
A lowly bed his mother made.
He came, the lost, to seek and save,
For me and you, his life he gave.
The
little baby on the hay,
Hung on a cross one holy day.
The manger led to Calvary,
Where Jesus died for you and me.
The Christ Child was the sacrifice.
For mankind’s sin, he paid the price.
Our guilt was on his shoulders laid
And when he died, our debt was paid.
Christmas
is a time to pause
And think of all the pain we cause-
The unforgiving heart we own;
The seeds of discontent we've sown.
Yet, God loves each and everyone,
Despite the ugly things we’ve done.
At Christmas time and all year through,
Thank him for his gift to you.
