No Room At the Inn

Caesar Augustus issued a decree.
Mary and Joseph went from Galilee
Into Judea so they could be enrolled,
in the town of David,
as the prophets had foretold.

Many others journeyed
to Bethlehem that day.
The little inn was crowded
and they were turned away.

Mary was with child
and knew the time had come
for her to bear the Christ Child,
God's precious holy Son.

Joseph found a stable,
a humble place to stay.
The Savior of the world was born
and laid upon the hay.

There was no room for Jesus
at the little inn that day.
And so the precious Christ Child
was laid upon the hay.
Make room in your heart for Jesus;
do not turn him away.
Seek and find the Christ Child
and in your heart he'll stay.

Find joy in the birth of the Christ Child.
May his presence fill your heart with
hope and peace during this holiday season
and throughout the New Year.
