Christmas Stocking Tree Ornament

I don't have a pattern for you to follow for this craft, but you can have Mom or Dad help you.  This is a cute ornament, easy to make and one I am sure you will have fun with.

SUPPLIES
  • cardboard (from boxes)
  • scissors
  • white glue
  • red, green, gold and silver glitter
  • red and green yarn (piece about 5-6 inches long)

DIRECTIONS
  1. Have Mom or Dad draw the outline of a Christmas Stocking on the cardboard, about 5 inches tall
  2. Cut out the stocking
  3. Draw a line across the top of the stocking, about an inch from the top
  4. Glue a piece of yarn the color you are going to make your stocking to the top of your stocking on the backside, let it dry.
  5. Cover the top section in glue and sprinkle with silver or gold glitter, let it dry
  6. Cover the bottom section in glue and sprinkle with red or green glitter, let it dry completely
  7. turn the stocking over and repeat what you did on the front, making sure you cover the ends of the yarn
  8. put glue along the sides of the stocking and sprinkle the color glitter to match the top or bottom of the stocking, let dry
  9. Write your name in glue on the front of the stocking and sprinkle with glitter
  10. Let your stocking dry completely and hang on your Christmas Tree

If you want you can put the year you made your Stocking Ornament on the back.  I still have these ornaments that my boys made when they were in grammar school and I still hang them on my tree every year!
