Clay Pot Santa
(this craft is going to take 3 days to complete)

Supplies

  • Clay Pots, you can use any size you like, just be sure you adjust the size of the face and mitten patterns to fit the pots
  • Acyrlic Paints
    • red
    • black
    • white
    • flesh
    • gold
  • White Pom Pom
  • Red felt for Santa's arms
  • White felt for his mittens
  • High Gloss Spray Lacquer
  • Clear Silicone Adhesive
  • Assorted Paint Brushes
  • Graphite


Directions

  1. Paint the clay pots as shown.
  2. Head Pot
    • Print the graphic for Santa's face, and for his mittens
    • After you have the basecoat on the head pot, coat the back of the face pattern with graphite
    • Lay the pattern against the head pot and trace it to make Santa's face.
    • Paint his face as it is shown in the picture.
      Mix black and white paint to get the gray for the hair and beard
      Mix red and white to get the pink for the cheeks, nose and mouth.
      (let the paint dry overnight)
  3. Glue the pots together with the silicone adhesive
    (let adhesive set for 24 hours)
  4. Spray Santa with the high gloss lacquer
  5. Glue pom pom on top
  6. Make red felt arms (a straight piece will do) and attach them on each side of the beard.  Put a small drop of adhesive on each side of the belt buckle and attach the arms
  7. Attach the white mittens to the arms and on each side of the belt buckle.
