Christmas Cards

There are so many ideas for making your own Christmas cards and your family and friends will love getting them.  You will be able to make these cards from things you have around the house. So, get out your craft supplies and get ready for fun!
Supplies

  • construction paper
  • aluminium foil
  • pictures of yourself and your family
  • crayons
  • colored markers/pencils
  • glitter
  • Christmas stickers
  • fun stamps
  • cotton balls
  • white paper
  • glue
Directions

  • Decide who you want to send cards to
  • Now that you have your card list, get all the supplies together that you are going to need
  • fold construction paper to whatever size you want the card to be.
    (if you are going to send the cards in the mail, remember that the cards will have to fit into envelopes)
  • Decorate the cards anyway you want.
    • Use glitter
    • Use cottonballs to make snow by pulling them apart and then glueing them to the paper
    • Cut pieces of white paper into snowflake shapes and then glue them to different colors of constrution paper
    • Make a star from aluminum foil
    • Use scissors and chop up little bits of white paper to stuff in the card so that it'll fall out like snow when someone opens it
  • Your Message
    You can write a message on the front and on athe inside of the card.  Here are some ideas:
    • Happy Holidays
    • Merry Christmas
    • Have A Great Christmas
    • Hope You Get Everything You Want
    • Hope Santa's Good To You
    • Were You Naughty or Nice?
    • Happy Birthday, Jesus!
Some Card Ideas

  • Snow theme ideas
    • Use cottonballs snow scene on the front of the card
    • Use crayons and glitter to draw trees and then decorate them
    • Draw pictures of kids iceskating
    • Make a snowman on the front of the card
    On the inside of the card, you can write something like "Have a Snowy Holiday" or "Let It Snow"  Be sure to sprinkle some bits of paper, like snow, on the inside and stick it in the envelope.  When the person you're giving the card to opens it, it will be "snowing!"

  • Religious theme
    • Draw a manger scene on the front of the card
    • On the inside write something like
      • "Happy Birthday, Jesus"
      • "Jesus is the Reason for the Season"
      • "Keep Christ in CHRISTmas"

  • Funny theme
    • Get a funny picture of you or your dog or your family
    • Attach it to the front of the card using glue or tape
    • Decorate around the edges of the photo with crayons or markers or glitter or stickers
    • On the inside of the card, write something like,
      • "Were You Naughty or Nice?"
      • "We wish you were here!"
      • "Merry Christmas from our house to yours"

  • Star theme
    • Draw a star to use as a pattern
    • Cut pieces of aluminum foil into stars of all shapes
      (be very careful with the foil, it's delicate and can tear easily)
    • After you have made a few stars, attach them to the front of the card
    • Put glitter and other decorations on it
    • On the inside you write something like
      • "Have a Brilliant Christmas"
      • "Have a Starry Holiday!"
