I am far from an expert but here are a few little shortcuts I've learned.
Did you know you can right click on the start button, and then a little menu pops up and you choose
EXPLORE to go to a particular drive or folder...
(example: the Windows Tutorial on mine is in c:/windows
discover windows 98)
To copy and paste:
Just hightlight the text that you want to copy, click the right mouse button and pick COPY. Now go to the
area where you want to put it and right click again and choose PASTE.
To go quickly to the beginning or end of a line:
For instance if you typed this...'hte closet door is oppen' Then you would use the "Home" key to go to the
beginning and change hte to the and use the "End" key to go to the end of the sentence and change oppen to
open. I am not a good typist at all and I use this quite a bit :-)
This is a help when you're online:
To go quickly to the top of a page hit the "home" key or
To go quickly to the bottom of the page hit the "end" key.
Looking at a page and want to click on a link but afraid you won't be able to get back to the original page
again? Just open the link in a new window - hold the mouse over the link (the "clickable" text or graphic) and
click the right mouse button, choose Open In A New Window. That way when you are finished looking at it you
can just close it and you will still have your original page.
All my pages SHOULD open in a new window by
themselves
Want to send email to several people without them seeing each others email address? Just put your own
address in the TO: field and all the rest in the BCC: (blind carbon copy) field with commas between them.
