Lord You Can Just Wait

I have so many things to do

Lord, they don't include You.

I must go on vacation today

You will just get in the way.

We will hike on the beach

We don't want someone to preach.

Then we will swim a little while

Lord, won't you please just smile?

I think I have to return to my job

So when I don't tithe I don't rob.

Maybe there will be a place in heaven for me

Even if I never have time for you don't You see?

Church is just not too much fun

So I will spend my time in the sun.

Lord, You know I love You

In spite of the things I do.

The reply:

Yes, you have been deceived

I can see you don't truly believe.

If you love me as much as you say

You would have time for me each day.

The church would be a welcome sight

When you go from darkness to the Light.

So don't kid yourself strange child

I won't allow my children to run wild!
