The Vine
There is a message in the vine
Hanging there entwined.
Plump and juicy is the fruit,
And the life is in the root.
The bounty of its glory
Is written in this story.
There is a Gardener there
To tend to it with care.
If the branch does not produce
He will cut it loose.
So the vine will do more,
And the fruit will be in store.
The ones that still remain
Will do the same again.
For the branch needs care
From the One that will spare.
As the story goes Jesus is the vine,
And the branches His children refined.
If they will abide in Him
He will be with them.
They can do nothing apart
From having Jesus in their heart.
The vine will forever show
Those branches that bud and grow.
The branch did not choose to be
They were engrafted to the vine you see.
Jesus is the true vine,
And our love with His entwined!
