The Promise

Noah preached the Word to deaf ears,

But when the ark sailed there were fears.

They pounded on the door to let them in,

But the door was sealed not to be open again.

Forty days and nights the rain came down

Noah let the dove go each and every day

To try and find dry land as they would pray.

Then one day the ark landed on the mount,

And God made a promise on which Noah could count.

He put the rainbow of promise in the sky

To promise some land would always be dry.

Never again would God destroy the world this way

So God gave the rainbow to us on that day.

Beautiful covenant between God and man

Written forever in God's perfect plan.

Rainbow in the sky after the rain

The sign that will forever remain!
