The Temple The blocks by time are held in place ~ They form the buildings surface. God adds to the structure day by day ~ Creating in me a place for Him to stay. The foundation is so secure ~ The Rock will forever endure. No human hands can do this task ~ He is making me new; the die is cast. One by one He places the blocks ~ As steady as the ticking of the clock. He knows where the windows go ~ Where the Light will truly show. The rooms all filled with love ~ That He sent from above. He lined the hallway with grace ~ That leads me to the Master's face. Salvation in the very high walls ~ You can hear the evening bells call. Prayer is the sweet smell in each room ~ It goes out morning, night, and noon. The sacrifice is His Son on the altar ~ It is His gift to me He offers. The Holy Spirit lives here inside ~ Forever with me to abide. Plenty of space for improvement to be done ~ So the work continues until His Kingdom comes. Painting and molding each little joint ~ His Holy Spirit this place to anoint. He never goes out or leaves me alone ~ He sits in the middle right on the throne. He is building the temple stone by stone ~ He is comfortable He is at home. Faith is the key that opens the door ~ Righteousness is the covering for the floor. Where He walks is pure and clean ~ All must go that is in between. The temple is His achievement ~ The plans are all in agreement. Not one block is out of place ~ They are all laid by His mercy and grace. He placed the temple right here ~ Within my heart with care. He will reveal its size ~ One day to my very eyes!
