Roses Have Thorns
The most beautiful flower of all
Will from the stem fade and fall.
The rose with its great splendor
Can prick the end of your finger.
The sweetest friend on earth today
Can have some cutting words to say.
There are no crops to gather in the fall
Without sunshine and rain for it all.
Life is filled with examples to use
So this is really not news.
Still I am compelled to try,
And point you to the sky.
It is God's great desire
That this poem will inspire.
Not for praise for the poets thoughts,
But praise for God's Son to be taught.
Yes, the rose has thorns that show
Our troubles only help us to grow!
