Repent

Jesus called the lost to repent,

Or to hell they would be sent.

Sin had filled the heart of man

Not one of them could understand.

They were dead in sin and lost

They could not pay sin's cost.

Man could not awaken from that death

The soul in him had not one ounce of breath.

Wicked and vile was the human race

They never could have seen God's face.

Blind to the sin and corrupt within

Unable to move out of his misery

He could not defeat his worst enemy.

So God sent His Son to pay the price

Oh yes God gave the perfect sacrifice.

In mercy Jesus came to die for man

On the cross Jesus Christ took His stand.

Never again would death rule the soul

Because Jesus Christ could make man whole.

"Repent" was the message to be carried on,

"Repent" was the Word from God's throne.

Peter, James, John, Timothy, and Paul

The message was carried by them all.

Repent of your sin and God will forgive

Repent of your sin and you will live.

Today they say make a decision for Christ

If you do He will save your life.

Many have never repented of their sin

They joined a church that let them in.

Just a member on the church roll,

But God does not know that soul.

Never changed by the Spirit deep within

Yes, they are still living in gross sin.

Repent today and give up that sin

Turn from sin and God will welcome you in.

Repent
