A Nickel & Five Pennies
Sometime ago I went for a visit
To a state far away
Where there was a family
I knew did stay.
They were leaving for places
Unknown to me,
But they seemed as happy
As could be.
They were selling all they possessed,
And I was so impressed.
It seemed their love was so great,
And to me their mission they did relate.
They were going to translate God's Word
For people that had never heard.
Their little son come to me
With a nickel and five pennies you see.
I will never forget that gift from the tiny hand
So willing to give like a true gentleman.
Yes, a nickel and five pennies remind me
Of little Jonathan far over the seas!
