Overwhelming Blessing
On Sunday morning I look out to see
What a blessing this day will be.
With a whisper of a prayer in mind
I arrive for worship service on time.
The old hymns roll from the page
With singing from those of every age.
My Bible in my hand and on my heart
As the pastor's sermon begins to start
He tells and example as he begins
Then the scripture reveals all my sins.
My burdens I bring to Calvary
Where they are forgiven eternally.
The message always helps me see
What it is that I should be.
Then I part from the other believers,
And we all have been the receivers.
Out into the world so dark and cold
I cling to the words to cleanse my soul.
Not everyone is so blessed as I
Others don't have Jesus on which to rely.
They think of the possibilities all around
To sooth them from falling to the ground.
However they don't turn to the holy One
Jesus Christ God's perfect Son.
Come to Him on bended knee
O' come worship Him eternally!
