The Old Story
In the fields they watched their flocks that night
And angels sang with the star shining bright.
The message was peace had come to earth
It was given to man by the Savior's birth.
The shepherds followed the star to where He lay
In the stable with the cattle and sheep on the hay.
The King of kings in the cattle stall
Yet He was the ruler of us all.
God had come to earth as a man
To bring to us redemption's plan.
The glory shown all around them there
As Mary and Joseph bowed in prayer.
The Infant Child was a gift from God
Came to live on this earthen sod.
He had a mission to fulfill here below
He would just like any other boy grow.
While in an instant God could have saved,
And the years could have been waived.
However God works in mysterious ways,
And He accomplishes His mission day by day.
Yes, the Baby would grow to be a man,
And He would fulfill salvation's plan.
Man had no hope he was dead and lost in sin,
But Jesus Christ came to make man's soul well again!
