My Cottage By The Road Of Life

I live in a small cottage by the road of life

Where the world passes by with all their strife.

They seem to carry a heavy load

Out there on that long, long road.

My mission is to ease their cares,

And erase all of their fears.

I have planned to meet them on their way

At the end of a hard, weary day.

I want to be a helping hand

Doing all I can to help my fellow man.

Just a drink of water to cool their thirst

Or a smile to welcome them with a verse.

Showing compassion when they are in need

Maybe giving them a little hope for seed.

Turn in and find that there is rest,

And under the tree maybe you'll be blessed.

The sun shines in this heart of mine

Hoping that life for you will be fine.

So my cottage is open to the many guest

Those that seek shelter and a little rest!
