He Walked To The Cross

He reminds me of the cross,

And how much it cost.

I sit and wonder still

About His perfect will.

How could He care for me

Enough to die on that tree?

Why would my life count

That day on Calvary's mount?

Just simple little me

Oh how could it be?

Yet He loved me that day,

"Forgiven," He had to say.

My sin was too much for me

I had been His enemy.

Still He loved me just the same,

And up from the grave He came.

Death could not hold Him there

So He rose up in the air.

He took all my sin away

on Calvary that day.

He alone could redeem,

And make me right again.

He walked the road to the cross

To pay for sin's awful cost!
