Law and Grace The law is the rule It is part of school. The teacher spells it out And tells you what it's all about. The old law of stoning a man Was in that written plan. Burnt offerings were given To God by the living. The women could not come in To the inner courts with the men. The Israelites were burdened by sin, But none of this could make them clean. They tried to keep the feast too, But in Christ all things are made new. His sacrifice paid the full debt Still they want to repeat it yet. God has accomplished His law I will tell you what He saw: Man's guilt was always there They wandered around in despair. Burdened by the rules that could not save All the laws that Moses gave. They were only a shadow of Christ That would be the perfect sacrifice. No longer do we need to go back Into performing the old contract. God has now written on man's heart What He wanted at the start. Love God with all thy heart, mind, and strength Also love thy neighbor and do not faint. Keep this and you will please God well This is His story I now tell! Poem written by: Lena Ayer Kittrell Background design by; Lena Ayer Kittrell Midi played by: Lena Ayer Kittrell
