Jerusalem The city of great desire ~ That sets men's hearts on fire. They all want a part of her ~ So it causes quite a stir. Men believe in different ways ~ With temples they all pray. On the temple mount one stands ~ Different from another's plans. Distress fills their hearts with war ~ As they view the future from afar. Christian or Moslem what will it be ~ That will bring men liberty? Will they just fight and kill ~ Is that some kind of thrill? I think that peace is just a dream ~ When you have two extremes. No peace on earth it seems ~ Who will redeem? Can Ali stop the hate and pain, Or will Jehovah make us whole again? A city torn by distrust and hate ~ How can they negotiate? They sit at the peace table with a knife, And cut each other with strife. Wounds so deep and vast and wide ~ Yes, these wounds are inside. The war will continue as long ~ As the will of man is so strong. Two sides in the battle that's fought ~ Will it all come to naught? There is truth that men defy ~ It is on God we must rely. "Who is God," you say? He is the truth, the life, the way! Poem written by: Lena Ayer Kittrell Background designed by: Lena Ayer Kittrell
