When I Grow Up

(Thoughts of a six year old)

Soon I can tie my shoe

Just the same as you.

It won't be long now,

And I'll be saying vows.

We will ride a horse

You know that of course.

I can do as I please

I truly do believe.

No one will tell me what to do

When I get to be twenty-two.

I will have a big old house

With not a whisper of a mouse.

Santa will come each day,

And give me what I say.

I think the Easter bunny

Will bring me plenty of money.

Maybe Prince Charming will marry me

When I get to be twenty-three.

In just a day or two

These will all come true.

But first I must brush my hair,

And go with daddy to the fair.

Keep in mind I am only six,

But soon I will be BIG!
