Friends

"Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you."

John 15:15 KJV

Under the law we were servants to you

With all the laws to do.

Daily sacrifices for the sin

trying to be made right again.

No end to the grueling task

Of the demands you ask.

Weary with the chores left undone

Then O' Father you sent to earth your Son.

He was perfect in all of His ways

He did all you would say.

Man was in such terrible sin,

And they hated Jesus until the end.

They crucified Him on the tree,

But the sacrifice was for you and me.

The perfect Son of God was He

He took my sin to set me free.

I no longer am a servant to Him,

But now He calls me His friend!
