What Does God Demand?
It is popular in Christian circles today
To say, "Give your life in this way."
They say all you need to do
Is walk the aisle, to you.
"Come to Jesus," they say
"Please from your sin turn away."
Is God pleading with you my friend
To just welcome Him to come in?
"Just follow these four steps,
And God will then accept."
"Say a little prayer at the end
And God will take care of your sin."
I beg to differ from the crowd,
And say this out loud.
God does not beg you
To come, that's true.
There are not four steps to His plan
God does not depend on willing man.
It is true a prayer may be the thing to do
If repentance is in the heart of you.
God convicts by His Holy Spirit's call
To turn from wickedness and that's all.
If of your sin you don't repent
To hell you will be sent.
God is the creator of man
Man is only part of His plan!
Cold this may seem to you,
But this is what you do.
The only way to God my friend
Is to beg for forgiveness of your sin.
