Christmas

Bright lights and tinsel on the tree,

And underneath gifts for you and me.

Impatiently we wait for Christmas Day ~

Hoping it will not delay.

We shake the box and try to guess ~

It holds our interest.

Each day we spy the present there ~

It begins to show some wear.

Pretty paper tied with a bow ~

Some with angels all aglow.

God too gave a gift to all ~

He sent His Son when He was small.

Just a Baby in the straw ~

As the Shepherds gazed at Him in awe.

It was God's gift of love to man ~

Salvation was in His plan.

The star lead them to

the place ~

Where they could see Him face to face.

Gift of love wrapped in swaddling clothes ~

For the ones that God had chose.

Infant Child and yet the King ~

He is the giver of everything.

Wise men still seek this King ~

And bring to Him their offerings!
