WHAT IS SALVATION?
Webster’s Dictionary defines ‘salvation’ as: “A saving
or being saved from danger, evil, difficulty, destruction;
rescue. Deliverance from sin and from the penalties of sin;
redemption.”
Ahhh! Deliverance from sin. Redemption. I can feel a
cleansing run all over and through my body, just by saying
it. But, can we just SAY it, and it will happen?
Firemen can save us from a burning house. Policemen can
save us from getting into an automobile accident and by
stopping us from speeding. Well, SOME of us anyway! The
Coast Guard can save us from a vessel, drifting away in
the ocean. But, what about being rescued from sin? Hey,
that sounds like a job for the Army, Navy, Air Force AND
Marines! Wish it were that simple!
All of the above are temporary rescues, or ‘salvations’ of
the physical being. But, what about tomorrow and the next
day? What about when you die? What about the spiritual
being? Your Eternal Life? Who or what will save you from
total destruction and evil once your physical body is
deceased, and you pass on into the Spiritual world? Who is
going to save you from the evil that lurks for you in Eternity?
Eternal salvation is the most important ‘rescue’ of your
whole life. It is a free gift, from God. Eternal salvation
is your spiritual salvation. It is the difference between
living a life in a beautiful, peaceful place or living a
life in hell and eternal damnation. I don’t know about you,
but I want to live eternally where ‘the deer and the antelope
play’, forever! Where there is always peace, serenity, love
and praise and worship! Salvation to your spirit being,
means believing in Jesus Christ, God’s Son, who died and
arose again, and living a life pleasing to God. Jesus will
give us life everlasting.

God, our Father in Heaven, gave His Son Jesus, as a
sacrifice, to die a cold, cruel death on the cross at
Calvary. He did so we could be free from sin, once and for
all. Jesus’ shed blood rescued us from a sinful and
destructive life. Jesus became our substitute for sin and
the penalty was paid. We must first accept His forgiveness.
Ephesians 1:7-8 in the NIV Bible states: “In Him we have
redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in
accordance with the riches of God’s grace that He lavished
on us with all wisdom and understanding.” Jesus did His
part and the rest is up to us.

"Repent, and be baptized every one of you
in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins,
and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
For the promise is unto you, and to your children,
and to all that are afar off,
even as many as the Lord our God shall call."
Acts 2:38-39

True salvation comes from the heart. The NIV Bible reads
like this in Romans 10:9-13, “That if you confess with
your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that
God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is
with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it
is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the
Scripture says, “Anyone who trusts in Him (Jesus) will never
be put to shame.” For there is no difference between Jew
and Gentile - the same Lord is Lord of all and richly
blesses all who call on Him, for “Everyone who calls on the
name of the Lord (Jesus) will be saved.”
Won’t you accept Jesus today? Ask Jesus into your heart.
Ask God to purify your heart, and cleanse you from your sins.
If you sincerely ask, He will do it! Sincerely pray the
following prayer:

Father, I realize I am a sinner, and right now, I turn from
my sins, and ask Your forgiveness. I believe in my heart
that You sent Your Son, Jesus, to die for my sins. Lord, come
into my life, walk with me, and be my Savior, my friend.
Thank you for loving me enough to send Your Son Jesus, to
die for me that I might have everlasting life. Thank you for
giving me a new life and another chance at being your child.
Thank you for your love and mercy and for saving me from the
depths of hell itself. Lead me and guide to a new way of life.
In Jesus name I pray, AMEN.

If you have just prayed the above prayer and asked Jesus into
your heart, please email me. I would love to hear from you.
I am here to help you in your daily walk with Jesus Christ,
our Lord and Savior.
