God's Pain

Lord, I come to You in so much pain,
at times I feel I'm going insane;
My walls seem to be crashing in,
and I know it's due to so much sin.

I've done just what I've wanted to do,
when I should have been listening just to You;
Instead I went my own way,
Thinking tomorrow would be a better day.

Sometimes I felt I shouldn't come to You
because of all the grief I've put You through;
I did so much wrong it's hard to explain,
Satan just made me play that game.

But all in all during my fall,
I knew it was You I needed to call;
Fear, worry and anxiety were to blame,
which all did their part in my shame.

When I finally decided I had enough,
the thing to do was get really tough;
I raised my eyes to the heaven's above,
and called on You who had so much love.

It was hard to understand the love You had,
after all the trying times I had been bad;
You reached down with arms opened wide,
I asked Your forgiveness and just cried.

Now, You've given me Your 'protective bubble',
so I won't get into too much trouble!
You've raised me up high above,
and gave me strength and wings of a dove.

So every time I look up to Thee,
I will be saying while on a bended knee;
Forgive me Lord, for causing You pain,
and for me feeling I had nothing to gain.
