Lets vist
the Mount of Glory and
breathe in God's warmth
and love. Here we can
feel the mighty power,
strength, and wealth in
the lowly heart of our
loving God. Lets visit
the night of our
Saviour's birth, look
back to the manger scene,
and receive fresh again
the great love that God
has for us.
Caesar
Agustus, emperor of Rome,
had declared that a
census be taken of the
inhabitants of the land.
The decree went out to
every city and town in
the Roman empire.
Absolutely, everyone had
to register! No one was
excused.
The roads were crowded
and busy with travelers
going to the different
towns where their family
register was kept. In the
midst of these travelers
were Joseph and his wife,
Mary, who was with child.
(How difficult this
journey must have been
for her because it was
almost time for the baby
to be born.) They were on
their way to Bethlehem,
the city of David, to
register because they
were of the family and
lineage of David.
While they were in
Bethlehem to register for
the census, the time came
for Mary to give birth.
What an awesome moment!
The Ancient of Days
becomes a child of time.
The Bread of Life is born
in a town whose name
means "house of
bread." The little
town of Bethlehem was not
a very significant place;
yet, God chose this town
as His only Son's
birthplace.
Micah 5:2 ~
Luke 2:1-7
Enter with
me into the birthplace of
ourLord. Can you see what
I see? A lowly stable
area filled with rank
odors, dung and dirt
strewned everywhere,
animals all around. In a
small place of the
stable, Mary giving birth
to our Savior.
O what glory to be found
in a place of such
lowliness...a stable for
the inn. Holy God was
wrapped in cloths and
cradled in a manger in
Bethlehem because there
was no room for Him in
the inn. Grace and truth
came to us.
Immanuel,
God with us...
